The utilization number has nothing to do with your connection speed. Wireless is designed to allow multiple PCs to be able to connect to a router at once. The .5% utilization means that the router is not being maxed out and has lots of connections still available for other people. The LOWER your utilization, the FASTER your PC will run. As you add more people, the utilization will rise, and your speed will DROP. The router will have less time to service you. So .5% is a GOOD thing.

If you are getting slow speed on the Internet, is it your ISP, not your router. Routers run hundreds of times faster then the Internet. That is why they can handle several PCs on one ISP connection at the same time. They are much faster than the ISP.

You're confusing network utilization with throughput. Network utilization is how much of your computer resouces is being devoted to the network...since there's not much network traffic unless there's a lot of downloading going on, the stats are deceiving. You are at the max for wireless G local network throughput unless you go with the speedboost tech. if you want to increase the speed from the internet to your modem, talk to your isp.

Here is a tip. In most wireless routers frequency channel set to 11. Try a diffrent number from 1 to 10. This should solve the problem. You can do this action via by logging in to your wireless router.

If you like to improve your internet speed on your PC try this tool "TCP Optimizer" download it from here http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php.

Good luck

The limit is your internet connection, not your PC. The internet does not tax most PCs at all. It doesn't even tax your wireless router.

Get a faster internet connection.
