And you are worried about you in your petty insignificance!
Hey, welcome to the real world, arn't you ashamed your ignorance and that it took this long for you to find out what others have known for decades.
At least in this country, so far any way, no one shows up at your door late at night to take you away to put a bullet in the back of your head. And, not in this country, does it mean no one ever knows what happened to you. Nor do you find yourself in some Gulag deprive of legal representation as some one pounds and tortures you to death. And remember in those Gulags, when you confessed; you were executed anyway just like in the Dark Ages and the famous Inquistion period(s).
Maybe, this will make you feel a little better, after defeating Germany and Japan, America, after some little time returned those countries to their peoples. This is not the case for any other nation of this world....something to think about. This is not the case for the 30,000,000 dead in thirty years in Iraq, or the 30,000,000 to 50,000,000 killed in Russia, of the 30,000,000 to 120,000,000 killed by Germany and Japan before, during and after World War II. Toss in China,...., Africa,....., The Middle East,..... , Pakistan,....., Afganistan,...., etc.,. etc..
It is the price of keeping my *** safe, and every American citizen.
Now, turn off the light, but remember, when sleeping tight, the National Guard and other military personnel are on duty tonight. So also the F.B.I., the N.S.A., C.I.A., etc., etc.
It does bring up the question, what have you been up to that the government wants to keep track of you? Your family? Anything hiding in your closet you want to hide or talk about?
If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about.

Hmm, have the rules changed? I thought the buggers had us pretty well nailed down from birth, anyway! As for wanting it to stop? Why? The damn banks have more information on me than the government ever will, anyway. The banks and the Indian call centres!

Well, they'd first have to be pretty bored to find what I'm doing on a regular basis to be of any interest.
Plus lets just say they were keeping files on all of us. It would quickly reach the information overload point. Where they would have so much information they couldn't do anything with it.
