I don't find that amusing. I find it annoying and insulting. If it's someone I really like, I find it disappointing.

I wouldn't say amusing but I know what you are getting at....so I just give it right back to them. These are the same people who b*tch to me about thier so called "problems" blah blah blah. I want to tell them to shut the hell up--you have a new house, money in the bank and you just bought a new car. Like I care that you can't decide what to buy yourself for Christmas??????????

No, the opposite, it makes me mad. I think its rude to lead on a person. If you don't care, tell me, then I won't bother you with it anymore, but to pretend that you really want to know what is going on or that you care what I have to say is insulting to me.

Actually, it is a waste of my time and theirs. I can't stand phony people. Pretending to care falls somewhere between phony and pity. Both are just unbearable for me.
