At five days late it should be ok to take one now. The only exception is if it's been less than 14 days since you had sex (conception), but it sounds like it's been more than 2 weeks, so take a test. Good luck!

Take the home test, no harm done. But I suggest seeing your OB/GYN doctor. The cramping part would concern me more. It may be an indication of Tubular pregnancy or some other disorder like "Endomitriosis" My grown daughter suffered with it for a long time. Had to have surgery which was only a temp solution.

You can take a test now, you are 5 days late right? The First Response pregnancy test can tell you up to 5 days before your missed period so if you are pregnant any test you be able to tell you that you are if you are. Good luck;)
