DJ's usually just cart around one of those big black turntable things around with them to gigs & parties they are working at.
You'd need lots of CD's/Records.
Something to get the turntable to party to party, because those things are pretty big.
General interest in music.
Skills.

go with a 5 disc changer, so you can follow the songs right a way,.. no dead air..and a few colored lights, a mic. and about 10 hrs of music.. fast, slow, rock,country, waltz, polka, plus kids songs, bunny hop, cha cha slide etc..AND.. lots of patients.. you will get lots of negative feedback while you are on stage..
