No, you do not have to.
That is just for your convenience.
The advantage is the convenience. I cannot think of any disadvantages to it at all. If you are paying for postage that way, it can only be used for domestic postage, by the way.

Yes, you can ship it however you want. The only advantage to printing out the label through Paypal is that your shipping payment comes directly out of your Paypal account and by printing it on your home printer you don't have to wait in line at the Post Office. You can just drop off your USPS shipping, pre-paid and pre-labeled. Cuts out "waiting in line" time, especially if you're shipping lots of packages at once.
I can't think of any disadvantages. Or at least I haven't experienced any yet.

You do not have to use the "print shipping label" option... but, if you do, the payment can come right out of your account and you get free delivery confirmation. Since the postage is already paid, you don't have to spend a long time at the post office window, and you can even have the rural carrier pick it up for free. I did not use this feature for several years, but once I did, I wouldn't do it any other way.

It is always better to take a hard copy of the transaction. While shipping an item better you have a tracking number . I understand that the safety of receipt of the stores rests with you.
