Hey shania1...it seems a great many women like to thoughtlessly inform a pregnant woman about their difficult and painful delivery, how many hours they were in labor, et cet.
Pulleeeze just blow these ah's off, it is rude and mostly untrue, they are exxagerating for the sake of trying to be interesting, I imagine.
Trust me,you could have a delivery as smooth and easy and as super fast as I did...whatever pain I felt, and trust me, I am quite the wimp when it comes to pain, is NOTHING in comparison to the excitement, the thrill. Plus it was over within 20 minutes after arriving at the hospital...I was taking time at home washing and rolling my hair, and trying to apply make up! I wanted to look nice! Okay, that wasn't so bright, but we got to the hospital with NO time for any pain meds, no epidural injection, nuthin, and it was just fine...I would be happy to have a baby every day of my life, it was such a thrill!

So, please, don't let the thoughtless idiots scare you...just focus on the joy, okay? You're going to do great!

Well, it's different for everyone - I was in a lot of pain and had a long labour, but then had an epidural for the last 8 hours of it - which is great! It was an undeniably painful 21 hours, but also the quickest day I have ever had! A friens of mine had a 2 hour labour with her first child and it pretty much fell out in the lift! If it was unfaceable, then no=one would have more than one baby! Goodluck - you will forget about it all as soon as you see that perfect little child!

If you are going to have an epidural for pain you probably won't feel much as far as the labor pains once they give you the epidural. Labor pains vary for everyone and mine were like super bad cramps. None were unbearable although I did ask for something "to take the edge off" as far as the pain. (didn't get anything though) With no epidural and nothing in my system for pain I managed to have two children. If you have taken childbirth classes you should be fine. If you missed out on childbirth classes I would call the hospital you will be delivering at to see if someone can offer you a mini aka crash course in labor and delivery. Good Luck and congratulations.

Its not painful, it just depends on your pain tolerence. I had 4 kids all natural. You need to remember your in control if you want something ask if you dont like something say it.. This is your baby and your delivery.. If your doctor is good that makes it way easier and relaxing..

Its a wonderful feeling when you see the little head coming out and then you get to hold the little one, it makes it all worth while and within 2 days you will forget what you went through..

Good Luck and don't let the horror storys people tell about birth get to ya, some people over generlize(sp?) that will mess with you if you let it.. Its not bad at all.

Ive had 3 kids all natural and Im pregnant with my 4th. It was very painful for me,almost intolerable., but I didnt want epidurals. They scare me more I think and I had a friend have a bad experience with one. So, whether its your first or 4th, it hurts just as much. Labor might just be longer the first time around. I had a long labor with my first and with my second and third it was like an hour to 3 hours of labor with each. Good Luck! By the way..I read Miss Fabs statement and sounds she was lucky. Why would I want to sugar coat labor pains for you, when not everyone has an easy labor like her. Id rather be told the truth and know what to expect than to be told it doesnt hurt and that its easy..lol

Everything is normal, I worked the last day of my due date, then when I gave birth(emergency c-section) and I had my beautiful baby girl, I cried of happiness, and my new wonderful life began. It was hard giving up everything, my old life, my single friends, my job, my independence, but now, after getting OVER it, my daughter is my WHOLE LIFE, like I never new she was the missing part of my life, I don't know what I would do without out her, she makes me happy. I didn't know it the week before I had her, but she is my life, my missing piece, my love, my best friend.

1. It hurts but not as bad as you imagine it (and i have a very low tolerence of pain)

2. Epidurals are lovely. Like, no pain at all lovely.

3. The love you'll feel for that baby is out of this world. It's the sweetest most unconditional love ever and it'll help you forget the pain....I promise.

Labor and delivery are by no means fun, but holding that beautiful baby is the most precious feeling. You will be excited and scared all at the same time, but treasure each and every moment.

I am pregnant now, so I really don't know the answer. Though, I have been told by a lot of ppl that it's the worst pain that you ever experience, but the easiest to forget.
