The 802.11g protocol is backwards compatible with 802.11b. So you can use a "b" card with a "g" router. But the card will still only operate at "b" speed (11mps), not "g" speed (54mps).

Yes. But you wont be able to use the full speed of the 802.11g router. 802.11g is a 54 Mb/s speed where 802.11b is only 11 Mb/s.

If its wirless it will be able to connect. THe diffrence between g and b is how fast or the maximum speed it can connect to. For home users it really doesnt matter but for companies it does. I have a wirless 802.11b PCI card connecting to a 802.11g router. Just beware the farther you are the worst the preformance will be
