Depends on what you mean by "400 watt stereo speakers." Are you talking about ONLY speakers? Or are you trying to run your computer's sound through your stereo? Regular stereo speakers will not be able to plug directly into your computer. You need special speakers that are made just for computers to do that. Otherwise you will have to run your computer's sound through your stereo. Here are multiple solutions, depending on what you need:

Use this one if you have a 5.1 surround sound stereo. I ran mine to my 600w Onkyo receiver. You will need a sound card that is capable of digital output. Example: Soundblaster 24bit Live. I then used an adapter cable that had a 3.5mm miniplug (for headphones) on one end, and a regular RCA jack on the other end. Then I hooked that up to a digital coaxial cable. Just plug the 3.5mm into your cound card and the RCA end into the stereo's digital coaxial input. You don't really need 2 cables if you can find one that is long enough and has 3.5mm on one end and RCA on the other. Make sure that the 3.5mm miniplug is MONO, not STEREO. The digital signal is single-channel. All of the left, right, center, rear information is encoded in the bitstream. If you use a stereo cable, it messes all the information up. You can tell if it is stereo or mono by looking at the 3.5mm plug. If it has 1 black band, it is mono. If it has 2 black bands, it is stereo. Also, you will have to set your computer to do digital output only.
Soundblaster: $30 at Staples. Cables: $15 at Radio Shack (I get good cables, but you can find cheaper ones.)

Use this one for just 2 channel stereo, or if you have no sound card. You will need an adapter cable that has a 3.5mm miniplug on one end, and 2 RCA plugs on the other end. Make sure that the 3.5mm miniplug is stereo (2 black bands on the miniplug). If you need an extension, just get another cable that has 2 RCA jacks on each end. Simply plug the 3.5mm jack into your output (wherever your current speakers are plugged into) and jack the RCA end into Video 1, 2 or 3 or whatever your stereo has.

When using adapter cables, just make sure the ends match up. I had to make a trip back to Radio Shack because I didn't pay attention. My 3.5mm miniplug had male RCA plus, and my RCA extension had male on both ends. Didn't work too well.

You Need An Amplifier (receiver) with an Audio-in jack AND it should be powerful enough (wattage per. channel) to push your sub-woofer. Get a cable such as the, 'CBL10163 or Sony PC-234S Audio Plug Adapter' or 'ZipLinq Retractable Audio 3.5mm M-M Cable' (depending on your receivers/amp. jack), so you can connect your computer (the headphone jack located on sound card; may be in front of computer also) to the amplifier. Also get Wires (8 or 4 gage) to connect the Amplifier (receiver) to the speaker.

Do you thinks it quite is properly well worth the hassle adapting a vehicle subwoofer on an HT receiver? besides, specific your situation stands out as the capability source on your vehicle amp. A voltage regulator or a capability furnish with a 33 amps with a 12V output requirement would be high priced and demanding to locate. using the line point connection (rca plugs) is the sole option to connect between the receiver and the vehicle amp. this type the 4 ohms score of your sub will stay because it quite is(it rather is assuming that the two subs are 4ohms.
