There's never "too late". See your doctor, a nutritionist, or just buy a weight-loss book. You won't regret it, and you'll be healthier in the long run if you maintain good diet and exercise.

You can get your body back... well, at least you can look damned good for your age.
You need three parts to looking good again :
1. Exercise. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to exercise. Find an exercise that you love, one that you can do until you're 80, and do it. Throw in some other stuff for fun and to tone certain areas once ain a while. Tons of people join the Y when they're in your spot, and those classes are great.
2. Diet. Cut 500 calories a day from your diet, and you'll lose 1-2 pounds a week. For instance, kill the fries (fries are EVIL) when you have a fast food lunch, and substitute a salad or an apple or something low-cal. When you get a baked potato then smother it in salsa instead of butter and sour cream. Cut out the sugared pop, moving to diet pop. Join Weight Watchers, or at least learn to cook and eat like they suggest.
3. Therapy. Find a way to be happy. Beauty (and sexuality) is built upon being happy and healthy and confident. I'll take a size 14 lover any day of the week who is happy and healthy and confident (and a bit mischievous and creative) over a super-model who is a head case and a dud in bed.
PS - send me pics when you're done?

Diets are okay and everything, but they can decrease your metabolism, causing your body to conserve fat. What you really need is some long, slow aerobic exercise. Go for at least 12-15 minutes or more per day, and don't stop doing this once you get rid of the weight you want to get rid of. Another thing to keep in mind is that weight really isn’t the problem; fat is the problem. Weight and fat are NOT the same thing. Muscle actually weighs almost 7 times as much as fat. So don’t pay too much attention to your weight; instead pay attention to how thin you look and how good you feel.

i don't want to sound like richard simmons, but it is never to late. make sure you combine, lifestyle, excercise, and diet in trying to lose weight. one or the other will not work. if they do it is only for a short period of time. going to an extreme would be getting a personal trainer, pychotherapist, and cooking classes. my cousin is about 40 and she put on some lbs (75)after 3 little ones. she went to the gym under the supervision of a trainer 3 x's a week ( you learn the correct way to work out, efficiently!). she took one healthy cooking class a week ($70 per/week -1 month), for her and her family. She also went to a lifestyle therapist ($50 co-pay). she works about 25 hrs a week and takes of the children full time, so it wasn't easy, but in jsut 3 months everyone saw a difference in size and attitude. it been over a year now and she weighs about 125 and holding the size for a while. we all hear of many different methods of weight lose, but this one took all of her problems head on and definitely has worked.
good luck!

Two most important ingredients in Weight Lost Recipe is '30 minutes of Exercise per day at least 3 times a week' and 'High Fiber and Low Fat Diet'. Add in 'Self Motivation' and blend all in a bowl of discipline.

Just work on excercise! and eating right! I have stopped paying attention to the scale as long as you are seeing results (you feel better and your clothes are getting bigger) you are on the right track. I gained about 20 pounds when I started working out but I also lost half my body fat.

As long as you're breathing getting fit and healthy is never too late.
Don't lose weight to spite him....he's a jerk....lose weight because you want to be the best you can be for yourself and your children.
Even though you're not doing it for him what a perk it'll be when you feel good about yourself and he sees you.
One tip....don't try to be what you were....be who you are now.
