For the same reason Drew Berrymore's parents named her. They liked the name.
Now peopel take regular names and change them to suit their needs.
Morgan, Kennedy, Sidney, Gem, Mykel and i could go on, but I think you get it now.

Judging from what the celebrities are naming their kids these days, she got off very lucky. Maybe her father wanted a boy.
