I use *VERY* light misting of Winded on the screen. It dries very quickly, so you don't have to worry if any of it gets into the monitor. Then use gentle pressure to wipe it off with paper towels. Wash cloths can leave loose fabric on the screen... which really isn't a big deal. Don't press too hard!!! You don't want to bust the liquid crystals.

I'm assuming you're referring to LCD monitors, so, if you don't want to go out and spend money on "special" LCD cleaning kits you can use a damp cloth (100% recommended so that you don't scratch the monitor).

With a clean lint free cloth and water. Anything else can damage the screen.

Over time, you might notice dust or fingerprints on your LCD screen. As they become more and more noticeable, you will surely want to clean them off. As long as you follow a few guidelines, you can easily clean your screen without any harm to it.
