It depends on the program and the degree. Some schools don't teach much other than Java, and some equip you with a variety of language. Some schools teach mostly application level programming and don't deal much with OS, compiler design, or very low-level programming.
Some offer a BA degree, with little engineering education, while some offer a BS degree with courses in Calculus and physical sciences, and even higer level mathematics.
As for work, you have a variety of options based on your education; from things like microcode, device drivers, embedded systems, to databases and applications.
Having a MS or higher in Computer Science, you can command a fairly high salary, but it's work to get there. First, define what sort of work you might want to do, and then design your college career around it. If yo want to make the big bucks, you'll need to do some work.

Depends. I am currently studying computer science. I find the programming aspect of it to be pretty easy, but others really struggle with it. And some people just don't try and are in it for a nice job with that makes a lot of money, and they usually struggle cause they don't have any passion behind it. There is a lot of math you need to take, at a lot of colleges you can get a math minor by taking a couple extra course (which is something I am doing). To be successful at programming then you just need to practice a lot.

Not really. It requires attention to detail, organizational skills and logical thought. However, it's very lucrative and worth it. And it's not all that hard either (but on a relative scale of things that exist in the world, it's definitely not on the easy side).
