Sweetheart, they do this in the movies, and they cut OUT a lot of stuff that would probably make you FAINT. I've seen a father pass out in the hallway while following his wife into the delivery room. They just stepped over the guy and left him there. Believe me, you don't want to do this. Find a midwife nearby, and call her over, if you have to. Better yet, get her to a hospital. Things can go wrong, and you both don't want to be responsible for the death of a baby, just because you didn't take it seriously.
It's not as easy as they make it look on TV.

you really need to try to get her to the hospital if she goes into labor.you dont no what kind of complications she and the baby can have.STEP 1: Call 911. Rally passersby to help (if you're really lucky, one will be a midwife or a doctor). Even if help is far away and you'll be on your own during the birth, you will want someone to walk you through it. STEP 2: Do not freak out. Childbirth is designed to be noisy, messy and scary as a deterrent to the less committed. Your role is to be comforting and reassuring no matter how awful you feel. STEP 3: Ask the woman if there are any problems you should be aware of in order to tell emergency personnel. Is she having twins? If the baby is oriented with its head up (a breech delivery), renew your efforts to get help quickly. In the meantime, wash your hands. STEP 4: Talk to the woman. Tell her to breathe. If she feels like pushing, encourage her to pant instead. Wait until the contractions are strong and the baby is emerging (crowning). Have her push when contractions are strong and rest at other times. STEP 5: Spread out a shower curtain, clean towels or newspaper. Help the woman sit at the edge of a bed or table with her hips hanging off and knees apart. If labor is too far along or it's too painful to climb on a bed or table, place a stack of newspapers or towels under her hips to raise them high enough to help deliver the baby's shoulders. STEP 6: Cup the baby's head in your hands once it starts to come out and move it slightly downward as the woman pushes. If the umbilical cord is wrapped around the head or neck, gently work it free and clear the baby's mouth of any obstructions. Help the shoulders to ease out one at a time. Once both shoulders are clear, the baby should slip right out--so hang on! STEP 7: Wipe the baby's face with a towel and check that the nose and mouth is clear. Suction the mouth if you have a syringe or bulb. STEP 8: Wrap the baby in a clean towel or shirt and gently lay it on the mother's abdomen or at her breast (depending on how long the cord is). Nobody slaps newborns anymore. STEP 9: Do not try to pull the placenta out. If it comes out on its own, wrap it in a newspaper or towel and keep it above the level of the baby's head until help arrives. Do not cut the cord. STEP 10: Keep the mother and baby comfortable, warm and dry, and do nothing else if help is on the way. If help is not coming, get them to a hospital as soon as possible.

That's crazy. No one plans to "learn" how to deliver a baby. If she doesn't want to have her baby in the hospital, she should have consulted with a midwife. (may not be too late) I would agree with the other respondents to call 911 for an ambulance as soon as there is any sign of labor.

Honestly, so much can happen. You have to be adult enough to get her to the hospital. Ask a neighbor, call an ambulance (911), taxi cab. You know you cannot deliver that baby at home. You are liable for your girlfriend and baby. You could get into biiiigggg trouble.

No no no... you don't wanna be doing this without experience!! I should know! I needed the emergency c-section. It made me nervous and I was AT the hospital!!!

Tell your friend it's hormones and delivery jitters. She owes it to herself and her baby to do what's best for both of them. (And that's NOT having a pal deliver her baby no matter how good a friend you are.)

If that doesn't work tell her you went on Yahoo Answers to get tips on delivering her baby from a bunch of strangers who aren't doctors, who don't have any experience and who could be feeding you absolutely WRONG information. That should freak her out badly enough to want someone with some kind of medical certificate or degree present.

I'd say good luck, but not if you're going ahead with this plot.
(Mind you you'll need plenty of luck at the inquest if something goes wrong...)

Call 911. You and she can not take it upon yourselves to deliver a baby at home. You need proper medical training and what if the baby is breach. Get her to a hospital at once.

Call 911 and they will pick her up and take her to the hospital.

If you have the book what to expect while expecting it shows you how to deliver a child, BUT i would not recommend it escepillay if there were complications or what not she needs to go to the hospital

Pick up the phone and call for an ambulance.. they have people that can drive and help deliver the baby! Then you can name your baby after the paramedic that helps deliver it!

call 911 there is more to having a baby than just taking the baby out or helping her get the baby out...the placenta needs to come out and such and making sure the baby is okay and the mom. so please call 911 asap
