Why do people who listen to country music (white people) feel it is necessary to have a separate awards ceremony? The Grammy's and American Music Awards give awards to country and western artists, so why are they exclusionist?

That is so funny about the MTV Awards. I have no problem with the Country Music Awards and people should be able to see their favorite genre exclusively.

This question is really to show people who question blacks for having their own awards.

And blacks who listen to country are very, very, very rare. They must still be in the closet.

The music companies want to promote their artists and get more sales, thus the award. If you look around, there are awards for every genre- It's a masturbatory study of self-promotion.

Firstly there are plenty of non-white people that listen to Country music too. Secondly, Country music has become so popular that by offering a separate awards ceremony there may be a greater array of awards offered.

If you don't like it don't listen to it and don't watch the awards ceremony.

I have a better question for you.....Why does MTV have a Video Music awards when MTV doesn't even show videos anymore??????

The CMA's are a humorous tale?do no longer watch. That replaced into common. And a genuine us of a music individual could understand the thank you to spell Reba's final call.

Good question. I never really thought about it. I guess maybe years ago they thought they weren't getting enough coverage, or maybe in the late 80's when it was at it's peak with all the country and line dancing bars they did it to further their popularity.
