Halloween comes form a pagen holiday that originated in Ireland 3000 years ago. With the rise of the church they wanted the pagens to convert and give up the old ways. The church developed all saints day which is celebrated on Nov. 1. People would call the 31 st of October all Hallo's eve. hallo meaning saint. It morphed into what we know as Halloween.
