can you help me with DVD ripping PLEASE?

Question

i want to rip my DVD's to my computer so i can copy them to my MP3 player later on. i have tried many things..but i want to rip them all to ONE file and it needs to be a free program. if someone can PLEASE help me out here i'd really appreciate it. I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM
