I'm not trying to be pretentious! I really like these - they are my favorites. I'm an artist and I know of many, many artists and art prints. I like these because of their bold colours.

I professionally frame my son's art. He is nine and he is gifted. My oldest I have recorded his trumpet playing and burned to CD and had my 9 year old create a cover for him. I appreciate art of the artists you have named, they've helped me realize I have a gifted sons. My 3 year old is yet to show his gift. I hope one day you can enjoy the gifts as I do.

I have an M.C. Escher my wife bought me years ago. Other than that it's mostly movie posters. I don't really hang others stuff because I just don't feel the need to have it. Don't get me wrong, it's not because I'm being a snob or anything. I Just like too many people and the work they do.
I still have stuff from friends of mine that was given to me twenty years ago and it stays put away. It's really good stuff. I just don't feel the need to hang it.
I used to collect trading cards of some of the artists I like and once in a blue moon I'll pick up a book of someone's but that's about it.
I think the biggest reason why is because I don't want whatever's hanging around to influence what I do. I've always thought if you surround yourself with others stuff you start to lose or have a harder time creating a style of your own. I've seen it happen a couple of times. I know it may sound like b.s. but that's what I think.

Mostly I have my own stuff--I'm an art student, my apartment's small, and I have to store it somewhere. I do have a couple of originals that I picked on the cheap. I don't know the artists, but they're some nice landscapes. My husband mostly hangs up posters of comic or movie art.

My father is an artist and I have several of his works gracing various rooms in my home.
He lost an arm in an industrial accident 11 years ago and no longer paints, so his works are precious to me.
All of my paintings are originals, done with a great artist vision and creativity, they are beautiful, he is an unknown artist.....

You are a very pretentious person. Might I suggest you go out to Galleries & find artists that truly speak to you versus ones that just sound good. There are some magnificent artists out there these days...you just need to seek them out.
