No, because Liberals want a system where the Federal government is in complete control of every aspect of our life. Many even want to take it a step further and globalize this concept. Liberals hate liberty as much as any Neocon.

Its been derived a long long way, and Liberalism today is not the same as classical liberalism...
Libertarian is much closer to classical liberalism which derived it's name from liberty

I am not sure how to use "liberal" as a slur. When I use it I am actually just pointing something out that happens to agree with a liberal agenda or asking about something that liberals tend to agree with. It is nto meant to be a slur, but rather a title.

Actually, Socialists, who hate liberty, cloak themselves in the word 'Liberal'. They are NOT.

True liberals, who are intelligent enough to defend gun rights, defend America, defend the concept of Liberty in the Declaration of Independence, are getting blamed for the actions of Leftists. Sadly, it has worked on people like Bill O'Reilly (who I generally respect), Ann Coulter and others who misuse the word 'liberal'. The Socialists have outwitted them with the word games.

It's a slur on the underlying philosophy of sophistry when liberals think that they are for liberty.

Terrific & terrorist have the same root. What's your point? It's the so called "liberals" who are intolerant themselves & are infatuated with the most brutal repressive intolerant groups in the world that give liberalism a bad name.

"Liberal" is not derived from liberty. Liberal, as in given or giving freely. As in "he poured liberal amounts of syrup on his waffle." You are attempting (and failing) to play the word game in hopes of causing anti-conservative sentiments based solely on patriotic emotions and not on fact. Please avoid drowning in your own ignorance.

Liberals are socialists, they don't think you should own anything, the state owns all and the state decides whats best for you and all.

I don't subscribe to the false liberal vs. conservative paradigm. It is a fake construct to keep us divided. Both groups worship the almighty dollar.....
