Michael Jordan is the best offensive player ever. You can look at players like Lebron and Kobe, who may be close to his offensive ability, however they don't have the defensive presence of MJ. Lebron is below average defensively but will certainly get better. Kobe is above average but still nowhere near MJ. Kobe scored 81, which is very impressive, but this is an era without hand checking, and no one on Toronto is that impressive defensively. Jordan on the other hand scored 63 points against one of the best defenses of all time. MJ was much better than magic offensively and defensively, but magic was obviously a better play maker. I don't even like Jordan, I'm a Celtics fan, but the reality stands, MJ is the best ever, and will be for a very long time.
Take it from these two.
"He's God...disguised as Michael Jordan!"
-Larry Bird
"There's Michael Jordan and then there is the rest of us."
-Magic Johnson

Bill Russell. 11 rings for 10 fingers.
Jordan was all around the best, he could do nearly everything at a 9 out of 10. BUT there were players who could do certain things he did at a 10 out of 10. Jordan could do almost everything, but certain players bested him in individual categories.

is it 11 or 12 rings? bill Russell has the credentials. Jordan has 6 and the highlights wilt has the points and 1. bird has 3 and the gunslinger rep. magic has three but he played on some of the greatest teams in the history of the league. and together they barely beat bills total.

MJ is the most logical choice. But Oscar Robertson, for most of you young bucks was a close second. Who do you know besides The Big O that could avg a triple double over a whole season
