I get my periods on time, every month. But they are really heavy for about 2 days, with constant numerous blood clots everytime I change. They are also a bit longer, atleast 6 days. And then it will usually quit for a day completely and then come back the next day for a day or two. I just thought this was normal but my mom doesnt think so I any info you might have would be appreciated. I am sexually active, i'm 19, this is the way my periods have always been and i'm on birth control.

Sounds the same as me. I'm normal, on pill. Really heavy first 2 days, then it disappears the third day!! Every single month, on the 3rd day of my period it just disappears. Then, the 4-6 day it's back.
Sounds normal to me girlie. Everybody is different. :)

Sounds normal to me but if you are sexually active, being tested periodically for STDs is a good idea.

Birth control can actually cause this, and that's not a good thing. Talk to your doctor about it at your next appointment.

When you go back to your GYN for your 6 month check up bring this to her/his attention.

Every woman is different so no one here can do more then comment.
