no it's not pointless. keep up the work that your doing. you could possibly gain alot back because your using the excuse that it's the holidays. that should not matter. eat in small portions so that your not missing out on the good food, but only in moderation. it may sound great to forget a diet for the holidays, but when they are all over you'll most likely be sorry. instead of the five to ten lbs. that you would like to loose you know it will be more. i would rather try to maintain durning the holidays, and worry about loosing after, or you could loose, and be proud of yourself and look great for new years!

I am young, in college, and always on the go. I do however, find time to clean my place and always have it guest ready any day of the year. I use plastic plates, cups, forks, knives, spoons- the works. I only use my dishes and actual silverware when the company is over. This way I do not have to spend time doing up all those dishes constantly! I have a Swiffer broom vac and Swiffer mop that I use once daily. These things are so economical and efficient; I can sweep and mop the floors both in less than 10 minutes! Then I get baby wipes and use those to quick clean and disinfect my tables and counter tops. I use Pledge dusters multi-surface to quickly dust the furniture and pictures and knick-knacks. Then I always have Glade plug-ins or candles to help give each room just a hit of fragrance and freshness. I super clean once a week and it cuts down my daily cleaning apartment cleaning to a total of 20 minutes- very manageable. Nobody has ever bad mouthed me or my place and my place is the favorite hang out. With cooking the meals and all that fun stuff, I cook some of the food a day or two early- those things that I know I can keep good and healthy in the fridge and then I just reheat it right before we'll eat. That way I only have to make the last minute foods. The children are given a special table in the kitchen and I bought a huge SPLAT MAT. If they want to throw all the food on the floor they can do so and all I have to do is grab the mat, fold it up and throw it in the trash- no big mess todeal with.

no, it's not pointless. just don't deprive yourself from that pumpkin pie, beer, or wine. just eat smaller pieces or try to keep it down to a minimum. holidays shouldn't be about just "eating". it should be about spending time with family and friends (at least that's the way i see it).
try eating your meals on a smaller plate (less food to pack on your plate). if you're hosting thanksgiving at your house, make sure to pack everyone some food to go (less food in your fridge).
the holiday season is definitely a challenge for me, but very rewarding if you can get through it.

I think that dieting is pointless. Healthy lifestyle and moderation are necessary to weight loss success. When you diet you can feel unsatisfied. if you want to loose 5-10 pounds with the holidays coming up.. just be aware of what you eating. If you indulge which we all tend to do....increase your physical activity level to burn off the excess calories that you consumed

I Always have that problem! I love the food that is involved with these wonderful holidays! I just don't love the pounds they contribute. yeah, sorry to say but, it probably would be useless to try that right now. Wait until Janurary and make it your new years resolution.

You have a choice-you can still eat healthy during the holidays, less gravy, breads, candies, pies etc. or you just wait until the New Year.
