You should usually isolate the pregnant females in a hospital/breeding tank (10 gal.), but add the breeding grass and you should be fine. The male should be removed yes, in fact all other fish should be removed from the tank since they'll eat the fry.
They usually drop about 30 fry at a time, and quite a few times at that. In a single insemination they'll drop about 4 times.

I love Guppies! They are my fave tropical fish.
You should isolate the female in a floating breeding box, it has two compartments so the baby fry can swim down away from the mother who will eat them if she can. Thay are canabelistic creatures, it's not just the male you have to watch out for.
they give birth roughly every 6 weeks and they can have up to 60 or more fry at a time. With out a breeding box you will have to provide lots of cover so the fry can hide and not get eaten, lots of plants etc. If I was slow in getting the female into the box and she gave birth in the tank I usually only ended up with 1 or 2 that survived. If you don't have a lot of plants then you might want to fish the baby fry out of the tank and keep them in another one.
You will also need to buy some fry food, it comes in a tube and you squirt a little into the water. It looks a little muddy but it's perfect for the small fry.
What do you feed your Guppies? I used to feed mine grated chicken livers and blood worms, they love the stuff and it keeps them really healthy with good colour and form.
Good luck with your little babies.

Keep them well fed and you shouldn't lose too many to the parents.
A guppy's gestation period is about 28-30 days and depending on the size of the female, you should get anywhere from 10 to 60 babies (fish babies are called fry).

all other fish should be taken out or a thick planting of leafy plants so the babies can drop and swim into it for safety,,
