Does your baby have acid reflux? Is your baby congested? These are some reasons babies don't like to sleep laying flat. Try getting a crib wedge to raise the top part of the crib. If your baby is congested, put a humidifier in the room (away from the crib) or even in the hallway next to the room and this will help clear up the baby's congestion. Also, try swaddling the baby. Most babies find this comforting. Good Luck.

Try putting the car seat in the crib... maybe it's the environment that he's having a hard time with... and if he's in the "safety" of the car seat he'll be more comfortable... then move on from there. You could also try putting a blanket in the seat with him so that he gets used to it and then move him to the crib with the blanket, pack some pillows around his sides (under him and the blanket) to make him feel cozed in (similar to the car seat?) and when he konks out take the pillows out for safety reasons, of course. Good luck!!

Put him in the crib and let him cry. He might cry two hours before falling asleep the first time, but the time will get shorter with each session and within a week he will be sleeping in the crib not problem. DO NOT GIVE IN and rescue him or all the crying will have been for nought!

No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley. Order it tonight from amazon.com, have it overnighted and you will have it by Tuesday. It's worth it.
Swaddle him snuggly in a blanket. A good idea of putting his car seat in the crib, too. That's one of the things we did with my youngest.
While letting him CIO now may sound like a good idea now, it's not worth it in the long run. We did that with my oldest. Yeah, it worked for a while. At five, she has a hard time sleeping. My youngest CIOd exactly twice. (Once was accidental and the other was when both my husband and I had the flu and couldn't put her to sleep properly.) At three, she goes to sleep beautifully on her own.

My two year old JUST stopped napping in the infant carrier. Now he naps in bed with no problems at all. We've never had any crying and he naps great. Who made up the rule that babies must sleep in a cage, I mean crib? Do what works for you AND baby.

As long as there is nothing else wrong with him just let him cry it out. If you take him out of the crib every time he cries he will never sleep in it. With my daughter we sat next to it and sang to her or put a radio on very low with soft music. Within three days she was sleeping in it with no problems. Good luck.

I think he likes that tight snuggled up feeling from the car seat. When you put him in the crib wrap him up tightly with a blanket ,that should help.

My daughter slept in a boppy on my bed til she was 6 months old. Then I got her a sleep positioner like this one http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-1/qid=1162182147/ref=sr_1_1/601-2075814-9632144?ie=UTF8&asin=B00080LZVK and put her in that in her crib and she was just fine. It gave her the comfort of being in a small space but she was safe inside her crib. They only use it til they can roll over, but by then they don't need it anymore. Don't do the cry it out method like other posters have said, it's cruel. Good luck!
