The founding concept of our government, as detailed in the Declaration of Independence, is that sovereignty flows from God to The People then to Government Servants.

The Founders of this country realized that we also had to have a Bill of Rights to protect our basic rights against the danger of democracy, to ensure that a mere majority vote could not strip an individual Citizen of his Rights.
