Well, seeing as you've taken all of life's varied forms and lumped them into two inadequate categories, I'll see what I can do.
Probablity: Probablity theories say that they would "attack" animals first (assuming they want to attack at all) because there are way more animals (I'm going to inclue microorganism and bacteria here, and not include people) than people. Think of having blue marbles and red marbles in a bag- if there are way more red marbles, odds are that you'll pull one of those first.
Statistics: Statistics argues that there is no way of knowing the answer to this question. We have absoloutely no background data. Any answer, therefore, is unfounded speculation. We can't tell, because there's no information to go by.
Now, to provide those answers, remember that there were a lot of assumptions made- your categories are pretty weak, seeing as humas ARE animals, and you totally neglect anything on the microscopic level. But it's an interesting question none the less! Let's hope that no aliens ever decide to "attack" anything.
Enjoy. :)

I would think if they are "looking for a fight", then they would attack humans first because humans would be the first to strike - but that is assuming a conventional attack sequence from the skies.
If they were to sneak into a jungle without human detection I would imagine they would then tangle with the wild beasts of the jungle - such as lions and tigers. Assuming the aliens are carbon based, they would be a food source just like any human.
Still another method, if the aliens wanted to wipe us out without direct engagement they would attack and wipe out all the animals so we would either starve down or become cannibals. Only the vegetarians would have a chance on that one.

Aliens will not be attacking Earth, there is no need too. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

There is an interesting episode of the twilight zone that had aliens visit earth. they were very peaceful and friendly. the aliens help humans to grow food and eat well. then every once in a while they'd round a bunch of humans to take them to their world for a visit. the only thing was that those humans never returned to earth. you see they were eaten by the aliens. it turned out that the aliens were farming humans like we do to cattle.

first we would have to assume that they are hostile. If they are, then they would take out humans first. Why would they take out animals if it would only gain them 1000 nukes to the head. They would definitely strategize and take out our govs. however, they might not even understand our race and culture at all because their species could have evolved very differently.

Hi. Microbes, the dominant number of organisms on the planet. (And the aliens may be closer to their size.)
