I Don't think we should have invaded Iraq, but thought we should have invaded Afganastan. I also don't agree with manditory sentices for criminals, because we pay Judges who went to school for this to make these decisions. I was told this makes me a Liberal. Is it true? why is this wrong?

The people who criticize you by using labels are likely to see the world in a limited and narrow way. They can only see black and white. They can only see Liberal and Conservative.

It helps them maintain the safe world they live in which is concocted with fear, prejudice, baseless assumptions, and contempt which reduces much of their thinking into "us vs. them." If you think about it, this view of the world requires little or no work. Labeling people is the easy way out.

They often chose not to see anything, or any situation outside the safe bubble they have created. It is a bubble they staunchly protect. Watch as they lash when you suggest that life is more complex than a mere label.

In reality, they fear change. It's safer for them not to think of you as an individual and to mock and ridicule your inquiries.

And by the way, you can call me a liberal if you like. But I don't self-apply that term. I am conservative on some issues and liberal on others.

Tiggar. As we can all see you are from another planet and have a hard time understanding US politics. We shouldn't feel anything that the government doesn't like. You aren't wrong you're just an alien we should deport back to your planet. There are only mandatory sentences for certain crimes. In other cases judges are free to do whatever they are bribed the best for. I hope this helps. Nanoo Nanoo

Doesn't really sound that liberal to me. Liberals believe that everything including people belong to the government to do with as they government sees fit.

I have no idea why you think it was good to invade Afghanistan but not Iraq. But There's nothing liberal or conservative about that.

I agree we should give judges some leeway for deciding sentencing.

I have been called a Liberal and I don't know what that is?
It is the worst insult there is. See a lawyer about filing a suit for slander.

2 people commit a brutal murder.
1 goes in front of a conservative judge, the other a liberal judge.

1. a conservative judge gives him life in prison
2. a liberal judge gives him 5 years, because he had a bad childhood

That is why we ave mandatoy sentences.

leaving a sentence up to how a judge "feels" is a liberal idea. They have control to an extent, but can not abuse their 'feelings'

Liberal is what rednecks call anyone who thinks about what they say before answering. If you want them to stop, just say whatever the TV tells you and keep any original thoughts to yourself.
