For heavens sake, ignore the fool who says you get your ovaries removed !

Sterilisation for a woman basically involves stopping the egg which is released from the ovary, from reaching the utrus. To do this they need to either cut, tie or cauterise your fallopian tubes.

It would not be a painful operation at all, involving only keyhole surgery. You'd only be in hospital for a couple of days and would be right as rain afterwards.

Sterilisation can be reversed if you should so choose, but the success rates for reversal vary from woman to woman, so make sure you are absolutely certain before you make this decision.

They can do it with just a small incision now instead of cutting you all the way open and healing is minimal. Just make sure this is really what you want to do. If you change your mind the expense, surgery and low chances of conceiving may not be worth it or an option for you and you will have lost your chance. Good Luck.

No of course it is not painful. The painful part is making that decision, are you ready to forfeit childbirth. See someone first and discuss it before you make this life decision.

you dont get your ovaries remove you have your fallopion tubes either cut and tied or clipped or burned so the egg cannot get down to be fertilised! Thought about it myself.
