Same as any other marriage ceremony. It would depend on their religion as to what the ceremony consists of.
If you are trying to say Gay and not Fay, I don't know what a Fay is.

never been to a fay ceremony but for gay and lesbian normally it is very simular to a wedding, in many cases they do a wedding but just without the state license.

A commitment ceremony, is just about the same as a "regular" marriage. There's guests, the ceremony, cake, reception, dancing, music..... all of the things you'd find at a 'straight' marriage.

Depends on how the couple want it to be and what religion they profess. My partner and I hand a simple hand fasting shared with close friends. Rings were exchanged, cake eaten and gifts given. And it was the best day of my life. And 26 years later it is still the best days ever.
