unless you have a written agreement that you will be reimbursed for repairs you pay for, most likely not!

Probably not if you did not check with the landlord before doing the project.. But, if you can't get hold of the landlord and lets say the furnace is out and it is very cold outside and pipes may freeze, I'm sure legally you could make him reimburse you. Landlords have ways of doing things a lot cheaper then tenant's usually, so if you do get some money back, it will probably be less then you spent,,, As far as the law goes,, you would have to check with an attorney. No,and you have to be damn stupid to invest your funds into another persons property without some kind of agreement to be reimbursed! I have rental property you can fix up for me as well, but don't expect me to give you anything in return fool!

No if you fix something all your doing is improving their home.They'll be thanking you but you have no recourse to be reimbursed.If your paying rent make the dead beat fix it.If you want to fix where you live buy yourself a house.
