I'm sure we'll never meet so I'll share 2 of my sons names with you as unique doesn't have to be strange like the celebs seem to like to do now. The first is Richard but we call him Rick, this was unique to us as the only other Richard we knew was my father. My other son is Bryton but we call him Bry, my husband came up with it one night and it felt right and lots of people have said what a gorgeous unusual name. We picked names for our boys in relation to if we knew anyone by that name, we didn't want popular names like everyone else. Also do consider any nasty nicknames they may get as they grow up. Good luck with this new joy of your life, Baby boys are wonderful, I've had 3!

Rico is nice, but it sounds like a nick name or a shortened version of something. this baby is going to grow into a MAN.. give him a strong unique name he can grow into. Will the kids tease him and call him "poor2rico" or something esle stupid on the play ground? Family can call him Rico! Blessings

All my boys have plain names, but I can think of some different names. Maybe Jaydin, since you're a J. or courtlan, Seneca, Ty, Ky, Julian, Jace, Vance, Gino, Foster, Elijah. My boys are Aaron, Caleb, Phillip and Jacob. By the way congradulations! wish you the best!

I like unique names, however, after giving my own daughter a unique name, I've found that it's next to impossible to find her name on anything engraved in stores. If you don't mind that, go for it. Rico is a fine name.Would that possibly be a nickname for Frederico?

All the wackos with the "unique" names for their kids, listen up. Think about when your kid goes to school. Or when he goes on a job interview. Wacky names hinder success. Name your son something normal: John, James, Michael, Robert, Steven, David, Kevin, Anthony, Alex, etc. These names are now unique. He'll thank you when he's older.
I agree with you Elizabeth. Listen to her, mother!

Ask the hospital to bring you a name book from the library so you can look at different names and at their meanings! You may be able to find something on the computer! Have fun!
