the scene where the blind girl puts her hand out the door knowing that the monsters are out there but he will come, she put her hand out waiting and in total confidence...she was so sure...isnt that the most pure trust ever? what did u think of that scene?

Watch the movie again after realizing that it's all about the different types of love in the world/village. It'll change your whole perspective.
You have familial love, puppy love, unrequited love, sibling love, parent/child love, lost love, new love, old love, communal love and ultimately : true love.
On the DVD there is a deleted scene where the blind girl is on the way to the city and she's in the woods. She comes across a tree that has all of these pipes and stuff hanging in a tree that make noises of "the ones in the woods". Of course, she can't see this so she pleads with them to let her pass in the name of true love. I guess Shyamalan edited this out because it just gives it away and I think he wants us to figure stuff like this out for ourselves unlike so many other movies today.
He's a breath of fresh air in a stagnant art form. imho
...and yes, the scene you mention is powerful.
=)

yeah i hated that movie. i love M. Night Shyalaman but that just wasn't his best. that scene was pretty good though. i think she must have had to be very VERY trusting to know that he would come and wouldn't let her be like, mobbed by those freaky thangs.
