My faith is not measured by the means of transmision, rather by my ow communication with GOD. It is up to me to choose the church that best suits my need to be close to God. I have found peace in Daily Prayer. Remember that priests are men who can be tempted and unfortunately some have fallen into. It is like any other occupation. Teachers with sex scandals, Police force with corruption, etcetera.

There has never been a time when the Church was not threatened from within by something or someone(s). The Clergy Sex Scandal is the latest in a long series of Satan's attacks on the One, True, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
Such events, although disheartening, have not shaken my faith. Indeed, I have personally felt compelled to rise to the occasion and defend the Church.
I have no idea what the solution should be or when the issue will resolve. But I do know one thing - the Church will be victorious. In 2,000 of Catholic Church history, the Church has survived threats far more precarious than the Clergy Sex Scandal. Still, the Church not only manages to survive - it thrives.
Jesus Christ Himself has already assures His Church the final victory in saying, "the gates of hell will not prevail agains it." 'It' is referring to the Catholic Church.

I am a devout Catholic but I must admit that I did get a little disalussioned by all the scandal and pedophilia allegations. I think the solution is for us to stand by our faith now more than ever and let people know that these horrible acts do not represent Catholicism and it is an extreme minority of priests that have commited such acts. The publicity and notority that result from the pedophilia in the Catholic church make it seem common but in reality it is just a few sick pervs.

sturdy question. sure, John Paul the 2d remains seen great. he is going to be a saint! i do no longer think of he replaced into very boastful. that is only my opinion. he's a pope to be remembered. whether he replaced into Catholic, he visited alot of categories of church homes and human beings with different religions, which contain Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, and he replaced right into a Tibetan Buddhist! particular, he would have been in contact in some abuse scandels, yet he did ask for forgiveness essentially, and as I say, the Christian and/ or Catholic way is to forgive and to settle for human beings. He expressed recognize to others, which contain a Soviet chief, and whilst he replaced into fantastically much killed, he forgave the human beings. i've got faith, with all my coronary heart, that the Catholics who led to havoc are sorry for what they did. Being adversarial in direction of the church will no longer help. that is going to only reason greater resentment to a pair people who're harmless and had no longer something to do with it. human beings make blunders! think of appropriate to the apostle, Paul, working example. did no longer he attempt to kill the Christians? Later, although, he repented and became into the mild of the Lord. the main extreme component to narrate on is, Christians and Catholics the two love and recognize God.

No. God and church are still the same. A few bad apples are in every religion. I think more is being made of the Catholic scandal because our religion has always tended to be somewhat private. I think there are some people out there who are really getting a thrill out of the whole thing so that they can say"I told you so". I find that so sad and disheartening.

Im a fifteen year old Catholic Christian, and no, the church scandals have not affected my faith at all. Humans sin. Everyone knows that. Church leaders are still human, they sin as well. Just because they did something wrong, doesnt mean i should stop believing, now does it?

Well in my opinion as a Christian,That has nothing to do at all whatsoever with my faith.I have no faith at all in humans except the evil they are capable of,I only have faith in our creator,God.And we are saved by faith and not by works. So the thing that comes to mind is "He without sin cast the first stone".Take Care and May God Bless You.

my faith has not been affected. The question is why would anyone with a strong faith be affected by the works of humans who are just as fallible as I? I pity their world, and hope and pray they repent and find forgiveness. I also pray for the victims of abuse, for healing and a forgiving spirit.

yes when I was a young girl half of our church walked out on the pastor because he was calling everyone names and talking crazy of course he was later fired and he had been doing some hanky panky behind the church back. so this kind of made my faith a little short for awhile but he later got back on track. thank goodness....

NO.
Church is defined as the people that make up the congregation. People are sinners. We need to take a closer look at ourselves and strive to be better.
I just continue to pray that I am in God's will and I pray for those that are struggling in their sin.
