i know that i have to obtain a work permit to work at the age of 15, but i would like to know what kind of places will hire a 15 year old. I really want to work at target and i heard they hire 15 year olds, but i looked on their website and it doesnt say the minimum age you have to be to work there I also checked jewel osco ad it doesnt say the minimum age requirements. I heard you can be a bagger at the age of 14, and im 15. Please give me some information on where i could try to find a job, and what the minimum age is for target and jewel. thank you.

Talk to your high school guidance counselor's office about local employment opportunities. In many cases local employers call the school looking for teens. The school cannot possibly post all jobs openly to students so they wait for the students that inquire. If you were going to hire someone for your business, would you be more apt to hire someone filling out an application online or one who came in and introduced himself in person??? Get off the computer chair and show your motivation. Then, ask about age restrictions in person. You'll have fewer barriers when you are already showing how determined you are. I once got a great apartment that said "elderly gentleman preferred" ... I was 19.

try a local park district. for example, at the pool taking passes or teaching lessons. At 15 you can be certified to be a lifeguard, maybe you could take a class. Also, afterschool help and summer camps often hire aides.

Kid, it's up to YOU to find these things out for yourself! Go to Jewel and Target and ask to fill out an application, and also ask WHAT the wage is they are paying. YOU need to do your OWN legwork. We are not here to find out all of life's answers for you.
