It just seems like every body is so racist and ignorant. Some people are open about it, some think it is justified, and some do it passvie agressivly. It just seems both depressing and frusterationg. Does anyone agree? How can we improve it?

i totally agree with you this is the only section of yahoo answers that frustrates the hell out of me! every time i visit this section there is always some racist person venting their so called frustrations, or some one bashing another race or group just to stir things up. are there that many disturbed people out there? is America really that ****** up? sigh..when will it end?

I agree. Most of it is completely uncalled for and serves no practical purpose. I like to hear other peoples opinions even if they differ from mine. That is how we learn about each other. If we can do that without name calling and judging people that would be great. But some people have no respect.
Yes we should be reporting the worst ones, but freedom of speech still needs to be allowed too.
There should be moderator on here like I've seen at other sites. Kind of like the PC police.

Many questions of the hateful type usually give you a hint in the wording. Ignore those. They're only trying to get attention because they're immature and have nothing better to do with their time, lacking the mental capacity to think of anything useful or to learn anything.
Many guys who have doubts about their own masculinity use this section as a forum for gay bashing, thereby revealing their own insecurity.

I report every single person that I see making racist remarks. I don't care what race there are making it about either. If you make a racial remarks about any race on this site and I see you consider yourself reported. I also report gay bashers. Because this a place to ask questions. But racist people or gay bashers are always looking for an outlet because no one likes them and they are completely ignorant.

I feel your pain. But don't get discouraged there are a lot of good people in the world. As for the racist all we can do is try to show them the faults of their ways and hope that they reevaluate their opinions.

That little flag comes in handy. Personally, I report every attempt at spamming I come across as well as the racial and bigoted comments and questions posted. It's called fighting the good fight and if enough of us keep at it eventually it will cease...maybe not soon but better late than never.

There are many hate filled people who post here. I often wonder if they are influenced by people who are loving and accepting. I hope so. Like you I get incensed with the bigots, homophobes and racists.

no.... i don't notice things like that i really don't care if someone is mexican and sitting by me, unless they are wierd(not saying mexicans are wierd) but you know the wierd wierd, ok this is confusig to word ok i will just stop trying!
