Dark as in what?
Dark is not a good description
Is it on?
Adjust the brightness level?

There is a button which increase the brightness of the screen. You might also be in the powersave mode which reduces the intensity on the screen to save battery life. Check you manual or get help from DELL's hotline. Good luck.

yes they don't light up so well because they are so big
