Yes I do.....for Special Treaters!
Popcorn Balls
1 C. unpopped popcorn
1 1/4 C. sugar
1/2 C. light corn syrup
3 T. butter
Pinch of salt
1/2 C. water
Cook sugar, syrup, water, butter and salt until it forms hairlike threads. Use a candy thermometer and cook to 290 degrees. Be careful.
While cooking the liquid, make popcorn -- white is best. Salt popcorn to taste. Pour syrup over popcorn and stir with a wooden spoon.
Butter hands generously to avoid being burned. Very quickly, shape popcorn balls just like you make snowballs. Wrap balls immediately in waxed paper squares. Twist end tightly to ensure freshness.

Grandma Lyons made the best ones in the small town where I grew up! She put glazed pecans in them, too. The scumbag degenerates changed trick or treating for everyone forever. When I was a little kid, almost all of the treats were homemade. Fudge, divinity, peanut brittle, popcorn balls, roasted peanuts, cookies, etc. What a shame that things have changed so...but then, I think that most people wouldn't take the time to do the homemade in this day and time anyway. Popcorn balls are easy to make and my kids got them on a regular basis.

Most parents won't let their children eat them because they are home made. So they are tossed out along with candy apples, rice crispy treats and any home made treats.
There are commercial popcorn balls that are sealed and labled if that is what you want to do. I still make them for my children though.
But I would stick to individually wrapped candies for handing out.

It's been suggested that people don't unless you having a party for youngsters, either at you house or at smoeother place where tehy can know who made what and can control the situation.
I haven't seen or hear of anyone doing so otherwise.

Yeah, but not for trick or treaters anymore. You can make them for kids you know and bake sales but you can't give them out at Hallowe'en because of some poisoning urban legend.

we make them for christmas, but its a good idea, you might want to just pass out candy tho, if u make something and give it to little kids its more likely to get thrown out cuz the parents dont know whats in it

No because of people putting pins and various other itens in candy. If it's homemade it will get tossed.
