I live in the NYC area and I'm looking for a pair of boots, flat enough to wear to school (inch or less) that are under $200 but still nice quality.
any brands people recommend or if you also live in NYC, any good stores?

suede is nice, but i prefer leather.

Check out Steve Madden at 540 Broadway, I was just there today and they have some cute boots

i would really suggest you to get a pair of "Pammy" from Steve Madden. They come with a hidden heel..which is about 1.25 inch tall..but they're super comfy and very stylish, i bet you can wear these for years and they'll never go out of style. :)
