When I was about 11 I went through a phase of being so scared of dying that I would be too scared to fall asleep. In the end I rationalised my fear in the following way, and since then it hasn't bothered me.

Either there is some kind of afterlife or there isn't. If there is, then great! There is nothing to be scared of dying for because I will continue to exist in some form.

If there isn't then the earth and universe have been around for several million years longer than I have and I didn't exist for all that time, and that wasn't that bad, so I am sure I can cope with not existing after I die too.

You can never become unafraid of death, it's a natural part of life and will never disappear. But since it is natural, you can become less afraid by admitting it will happen and that it cannot be stopped.

Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour from sin, death and the grave. He is the Victor. He rose bodily from
the tomb after His curcifixion. We celebrate the occasion
as Easter or better called Resurrection Sunday. In case you are not familar with the occasion turn to John 20 or the other three
gospels towards the end of each book to read the resurrection accounts of Jesus. You must decide for yourself if you will
accept His suffering and death as payment for your sins.
His resurrection is proof God accepted Jesus death as payment for your sins and the sins of the world. If you want to accept Jesus, but feel you need more help find a Bible based church.
They are very different so study your Bible very carefully. God
promises if you seek Him you will find Him. Jeremiah 29:13
" And yea shall seek me, and find me, when yea shall search for me with all your heart. In John 11:25 Jesus speaks of Himself saying,"I am the resurrection, and the life:He that believeth in
me, though he were dead yet shall he live:" I know that the moment I die I will be just as alive and even more so than right
now because I will experience all the glories of heaven.
I am trusting in Jesus right now as my Lord and Saviour.
Verse 26 continues,"And whosoever liveth and believth in
me shall never die." I know Jesus does not lie. That does not
mean that Satan can't sometimes rattle his ugly chains at me
and try to convince me of his power. I try sweetly to remind him
of John 11:25-26. I think being sweet just reminds him of to whom I belong.

Pray, I think it is normal to be afraid. I used to be afraid but u can't be b/c everyone has their time. If I were u I would hope and pray for a painless death. To be honest w/u I am afraid of a hurtful death, I don't want to feel the pain whenever I die.

Thru the total acceptance that death is merely an extension of life. It's another transition we mortals have to undergo in these life processes. What more, the goal is to be united with our Maker.

I'm really not sure that, if you don't already have that fearlessness, that it can be done for you, or for me, for that matter. But I do believe that if it's possible, you can make yourself be that way.

One way I believe it can be done, is to believe in something more strongly than the fear itself. Think of the guys in the armed forces. They enlist in the army or marines or whatever, and then through the training they get, they get mentally prepared to even give their lives for their comrades, and their country. It is their beliefs that give them strength.

I don't mean you have to have the same beliefs as they do. You should find your own 'center', your own belief, and be ready to fight for it, even to the death.

It's a tendency you have since birth (every fear is) not that your parents are afraid of it necessarily... I am terrified of clowns, but my parents aren't... but you were just born with it. It's not so much you have to become unafraid of it, just accept it.

By learning to accept circumstances you can't control. Death is inevitable, and instead of using your remaining time on earth worrying about what's going to happen when you die, you should enjoy the time you have. Worry about the things that matter; love, happiness, family.

it depends on your religious beliefs; death should be only a step stone for another life as believe it to be so. others think that death is permenant that there is no afterlife and that you remain buried in 20 ft of dirt and lokced away in a wodden coffin. Me being a christian im going to heaven to chill with Jesus
