If the test was positive that means that you are, or were, pregnant. How much bleeding are you having? Are you passing large clots?
Either way you should call your doctor.
It sounds to me like you miscarried.
A pregnancy test can be false-negative but not false-positive. It would be so rare as to be impossible.
You must have been in the process of miscarrying when you did the test and there was still enough of the hormone HCG to cause the positive result.
If you were hoping to be pregnant I am sorry that this happened to you. Even tho it was really early on in your pregnancy you should still consult a doctor to make sure everything is ok.
Love and Blessings

From what I've heard false positives are rare, but do sometimes occur (usually due to user error meaning the test set too long before it was read, etc.)
Assuming it's correct, this could be implanation bleeding or a sign of a misscarriage. I would call you doctor and tell him/her the situation. They'll do a blood test to confirm the hpt results. If it's positive the can also check your hormone levels to see if the baby's ok.
Good luck. I hope all goes well.

It could have been a false positive. It depends on the type of test you took to how accurate it is. Or you could just have a little bit of bleeding from a late implanation. Or you could have had a chemical pregnancy. It is a very early miscarriage when most people do not even know they are pregnant.

i had my period for the first 2-3 months with each of my 3 babies ( it was just lighter & shorter), so you still might be pregnant, because false positives are rare (like less-than-1-percent rare). Get to your doctor ASAP to rule out an early miscarriage.

Two reasons....either it was a false pos. (it happens) or you really are pregnant and you're having some bleeding....THAT one I don't know how it happens, but haven't you heard that before? Someone is pregnant and they still get a period? Odd, but true.
