I am about 5'9'' and 150 pounds. I can't run particularly fast, but I can get by. I also have a substantial amount of muscle on me. I like to hit, and I think I am pretty good at it too. In Pop Warner I played both sides of the ball alot, mostly on the line, and I won Lineman of the Year on A squad. I don't think I can play quarterback because my spiral is pretty bad :-] ! When I rarely played fullback in practice, I got some big runs, mostly ending with me running over someone. My grades are very good. Thanks.

Speaking from experience (three year Varsity starter, currently I am a junior), I belive that at 5'9" 150Lbs. you can be an effective player if your use your speed well. I suggest working out and lifitng weights everyday with a certified coach or parent watching by. If you can gain weight and get to 175Lbs or atleast 185Lbs I think you should be a WR, CB, or RB. As a Freshamn you have the right mentality, but rememebr this is not a Pop Warner team or Kid-Leagure, this is high school football.

Basically, here's what you should do...

1. Set a scedule aside and try to improve your 40 time as well as doing drills such as running up and down the bleachers to increase speed and agility.

2. Gain weight (should be a combination of weight and muscle)

3. Watch other Varsity players play and watch your position carfeully

4. Sign up for the STACk Magazine, it has good avice and is worth it.

5. Go to NFLHS.com to learn more about your position and you can also ask Coach Bass for help.

I hope this helps...good luck!

on offensive, i would suggest Tight End or full back. on defense definatly go w/ linebacker. your a little on the small side, but if u play outside, then that wont matter as much, and your fondness of hitting will be a great thing.

however u have to remember that on a football team, u dont play what u want to, u play what the coach wants u to

DBs are a good way to help the team....but high school ball is rarely an aerial attacking game...then i would guess linebacker....

defensive back.
but what you should do is ask your coach what he thinks. That way you benefit the team and will get the most playing time.

linebacker. you may not be big, but if your strong and can hit hard youll fit. i would say corner or saftey but if your not fast then that wont work, so id say LB
