This certainly is a brain twister. If time travel is possible, then one can not go back in time, in time past to commit suicide. Because if that was so, then one is not in existence in the future to enable one to go back. How can you kill something or somebody no longer in existence? Marty in Back to the Future can not change things in the past because the future will be affected.

Let's say your whole body can be represented by binary data (zeroes and ones), and someone builds an internet that encompasses time and space - you can actually email yourself to any historic/future event like an attachment.
Once you arrive, you can actually kill yourself since the PRESENT will be your current existence - whether its the now (October 30, 2006) or a time-traveled event in the past or future. And as the premise in Back to the Future clearly (albeit shallowly) shows, events in the NEW future will change depending on your NEW present. The Professor may have been psychic though, since he was telling Marty what to do in the new PRESENT in order to keep the future consistent.
conclusion: the future's so bright i gotta wear shades, but i wear my sunglasses at night.

Time does not exist! It is an illusion based on relativity. We base it on the rotation of Earth an insignificant planet in the universe. The Universe has not been found to have an end to it as of yet so all time related questions are without reality based truth. The speed of light would be all we have to measure with.
Now to answer your question. Because time does not exist everything happens at once in a parallel universe. Meaning time is not linear. It is Harmonic. Like the notes of a chord happening both at once and at different lengths. Therefore you may be already dead in a different parallel instance. So it would be possible to change the direction of that instance by effecting it.
It would be similar to freezing the electrons of an atom to set a location. They are dynamic and therefore you can not set them in location unless you could bring them down to sub atomic temperatures. It's Quantum Physics or Quantum mechanics.

This gets a tad hard to understand so stick with me:
If you could go back in time, everything you will do has already been done. Imagine that you walked down a street in 1985. Then you went back in time and followed yourself. Well the back in time you was already there in 1985 too. Therefore if you were not killed previously, your actions when you go back in time can not result in you being killed. Going back in time can't really change anything.

I believe if it was possible, yes, you could kill yourself. In many books it comes up as such. For example, SPOILERS FOR HARRY POTTER AND ARTEMIS FOWL!!!
In the 3rd Harry Potter book, Hermione has the Time Turner and she warns Harry about wizards that have killed themselves that way, their past selfs murdering them.
And in Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony, Artemis kills Leon Abbot using Holly's laser gun by transporting the shot into the past before Leon kills Holly.
Yes, even though there is no real proof, I believe yes.

2 theories. 1 is that u cudnt bc whatever u go in the past and do already happened in the past, so if u killed urself u wudnt exist in the future to go back and kill urself, making it impossible. The other theory is that if u go back u change the future. Nobody can time travel though, so it doesnt really matter.
