They are OK. We use a lot of Dells, but we have had some issues with quality in the last couple of years. The D420 is not spectacularly fast, but the screen resolution is nice.

Hi! I have a Dell Latitude D420 now which is quite reliable. It is for corporate use that is why the graphics memory is not that high. The performance is what I've expected. A but pricy but I never had any problem with it whatsoever. I had a Compaq M300 which I got rid due to several problems. An Compaq Presario 2175Af which I spent USD350 just to keep it running and I just got rid of my Acer TravelMate 2410 which is so bad. But my Dell Latitude D420 never gave me any problem even if I leave it open 24 by 7. Good luck.
