i am contemplating this question as well. At this point I think if its a weekday she has to be in bed by 9:30pm. If it is a Fri or Sat, then I am more lenient to 10:30pm. But I'm a single mom, who is protective.

Legally, a child has to be 12 years old to be left home alone, 13 is only a year older. So, a 13 year old shouldn't be going out alone unless the child is taken to a movie or social event with friends and picked up by a parent. Your 13 year old should be home for dinner each night unless of course she has permission to go to a movie or a school game after school. Either way, have her home by 8:00 p.m. You don't want to give a young girl too much freedom.
Don't forget that she's at an age where her hormones are raging. When I was in the eighth grade, two of my friends were already having sex. Currently, I'm a teacher and one of my eighth graders is on her second baby. It's unbelievable what kids today are doing.

Sweetie,i would suggest 8:30- 9:00,and continue to add an hour later each year.Never allow her curfew to go past midnight,as long as she is under your roof.Make sure you know who she is going out with and where they will be going.Stand your ground, and if she breaks curfew make sure there is a punishment as if you let it slide once, she will keep doing so.There is no reason for her to break curfew unless there is a life or death situation(God Forbid).Stay strict and show her you mean business. She may whine, and say its unfair, but you know you are doing what is in her best interest and that is exactly what matters.Have a good night hun,and good luck!

I think that the best curfew time would be between 8 and 9 she is still young and really has no need to be out latter then that. Even more so with things being like they are on the streets.

I hope your 13 yr old is out with an adult and not going off with friends driving. I would limit school night activities to special events and school functions. Weekend nights if a parent is taking them to a movie or bowling..then it would depend on the schedule the parents going along set.

Personally i feel when the street lights come on she should be in doors. Parents let there kids out way to late naw and it causes a lot of problems. If she is at a friends watching movies or indoors i would say later but you pick her up and make sure her parents are home.

In your home, under your care, by at least 8 or 9. Keep track of where your little girl is. Depending on where you live. 10 or 11 o'clock bedtime is fine, as long as you know she is home and safe. there's alot of weird stuff going on in different places. Make sure you tell her it's because you love her!!!
