After 1 year of regular unprotected sex, with the withdrawal method (pulling out) the pregnancy rate is 20%.

In 1 year of regular unprotected sex without withdrawl, 85% of couple will be pregnant.

The answer to your exact question is difficult to answer because it depends on when during the woman's menstrual cycle you're having sex.

Sperm live up to 6 days in the vagina. If you have sex on the day of or the day prior to ovulation, the chance of pregnancy is about 20%. (Without withdrawal.)

If you have sex the day after ovulation, the chance is less than 1%.

2 days after ovulation, 0%.

So on average, most couples aren't going to have intercourse during menses. This cuts out an average of 5 days.

This typically leaves approximately 23 days to have sex, in the standard cycle. Approximately 9 days of these will be prior to ovulation. If sperm live 6 days, 3% on 6 days prior, 8% five days prior, 11% 4 days prior, 15% 3 days prior, 16% two days prior and about 20% for the day of and the day prior. Almost no chance on other days. The average % of these two days is about 12%. So if the chances are that sex will happen on a fertile day is 6/23 and the chance that you'll have sex on a non fertile day is 17/23.

The chance of having sex on two fertile days is

2C6 (combination statististical analysis) is 6%.

So there is a 6% chance that you will have sex twice during a fertile day. So on average there is a 7% chance that sex randomly twice in 1 month will result in pregnancy. With a range of 0-20%.

Here is info on the statistic probability of success using the withdrawal method. It may not be quite what you are looking for as there are other conditions that must be met but it is the closest thing I can think of:

Remember though that most statistics related to birth control when they say "80% effective" they mean out of 100 women using that form of birth control over one years time 80% will NOT get pregnant.

For a single act of intercourse the chances of pregnancy would be very very low no matter what you do. For one thing women are only fertile 2-3 days per cycle. So assuming that the "average" woman has a 28 day cycle that is about 40/365 chance that the day you are having sex on is a day she could conceive.

It is generally accepted that for two fertile people trying to conceive the odds of getting pregnant in any cycle is about 20%.

So making wild generalizations

One sex act has a 1.8% chance of causing conception (20% of 40/365)
One sex act using withdrawel has a 1.46% chance of causing conception (80% of 1.8)

Of course you could also take into account that something like 25% of pregnancies miscarry, depending on whether you are discussing conception or the creation of a baby.

Hehe I wonder if that is any help at all?

What are the odds of what? Pregnancy?

When I was a counselor in a women's clinic we were told to tell our patients that unprotected withdrawal sex, even if the man interrupts the process; can as easily result in a pregnancy as just plain old unprotected vaginal sex.

The reason is the penis is oozing minute amounts of sperm from the first seconds of arousal. Maybe you don't see it and maybe you do not feel it but those little sperms buggers are microscopic and it only takes one of them to make their mark (conception).

I looked up the statistics on pregnancy and coitus interruptus and most sources say around 19%

First of all .. I don't have any statistics for you. Medically speaking though, it is possible to get a girl pregnant if a man ejaculates outside of her. The reason for this is because the sperm can actually swim their way up there. If there is an egg present .... then pregnancy can occur.

However, I'm sorry I don't have any websites or anything to share, but wanted to share that tidbit.
