But when it comes to authority people are willing to accept anything and everything, why don't people act aggressively when they are challenged by authority? Why do people always listen to what our government says, obey what our parents ask us to do? But if they aren't an authoratative figure then no one cares.

Actually they are pretty agressive everywhere. Seems I can't pick up the paper with out reading how someone was raped beaten, stabbed or thrown over a cliff.
Animals are abused and children beaten to death.
this world has a lot of agressive people out there and they do kill each other.

Aggressive,passive-aggressive and passive behavior all stem from feelings of inadequacy. These people don't feel sure of themselves and so when feeling threatened by someone they perceive to be a peer or inferior behave defensively. But when the more aggressive or assertive person comes along, they don't have confidence to think for themselves. Sad, isn't it?
