Well i'm from australia and in like 2000 when the olympics were here the Prince of denmark came here went to a pub in sydney and meet a young lady by the name of Mary. They kept in contact and soon took her back to denmark and married like 3 years later i think. They now have a handsome little boy Christen and expect another next may... Mary is just beautiful. She had to learn alot by going and living overseas eg how to speak there language, how to act like a princess etc. And she was just from a small state here in Australia. There's hope.

It is possible, though unlikely. He has the direct experience of his mother the Queen's own uncle, Edward, to keep him from making this mistake.
Edward decided to abdicate the throne.when he pursued marriage with Wallis Simpson, an American. However, she could have been acceptable had she not been also a divorcee. At the time, she would have been shunned in British society.

If Prince William chooses an American middle class woman to marry, he will probably be removing himself from consideration of the throne, even though many societal mores are more relaxed.
The poor girl would be in for a very hard time, also. She would not have been brought up to understand the ins and outs of the royals and the pressure of being in the public eye 24/7. Even Princess Diana and Princess Fergie, who were bred and born to the noble class in Britain, couldn't take the intense scrutiny and demands of being a royal, no privacy, and the paparazzi hounding their every step.

"William could marry an American girl if he wanted to, but she would have to a Protestant who had never been divorced. The rule in England is that anyone in the direct line to the throne can not marry a Roman Catholic, because the ruler of the crown also holds the title of Defender of the Faith of the Church of England."

Theoretically, he can marry any woman as long as she is NOT Catholic. But, the reality is that he would never really have the chance to meet and get to know an American middle class woman.

Prince William may marry any woman of his choosing. The only problem that he may encounter is that if he were to marry a woman not of titled lineage, he may endanger his possible ascension to the throne as the possible king of England.

no it isn't. i think the royal family are pretty much set up to marry people in their own class and ranking. and they would also have to be british. it doesn't even matter if they like each other! see the crince and princess of wales on that one!

It's not likely. Members of royalty are expected to marry in the upper class or other members of royalty.

It would be severely frowned upon, I think. I'm sure his family will find him someone more appropriate if it even remotely looks like it would happen.

What? Do you have ideas about writing to him and starting something up or something? Good luck with that!

Dream on, girl. If he's anything like his old man, however, he might be interested in taking on a girl (even an American!) as his mistress...
