In your opinion, how is communication so important in modern business settings?

Fax machines, e-mail and overnight packages (ups, usps, fedex) have changed the face of business. Everything used to go snail mail. There was no way to get a copy of a signature, a contract, a credit report or anything without waiting days, and sometimes weeks. Now we have it within minutes, or seconds.
I used to work in a loan department, and we could call the credit bureau for a credit report, but then you had to take the whole thing over the phone by hand. Very slow!!!! We didn't even have copy machines, and this wasn't all that long ago - mid 70s. We've come a really, really long way, Baby!
