after i do all that they give me the screensaver with an add that comes up wanting me to up grade and pay a fee for something they say is free. plus after the survey they send loads of junk mail. how do i stop receiving this?

because nothing is free, and in this case, they're asking you to pay for the screensaver with your time and your input.

Rule number 1. Never download any free screen savers. Why? Because you are being loaded up with programs that you are not choosing to download. Some contain tracking software etc.

It's not often that you get something for nothing - in this case, the "price" is information. If you want to get the item without getting bombarded by e-mail, give them a phony e-mail address like "nowayinhell@nochance.com" ;-) It meets the criteria for an email address, but unless they're looking for it, the form you fill out won't know the difference.

There is no such thing as free. If you do not have to fill out a survey or some such, you will pay by accepting malware and/or spyware that you did not realize about because you did not look at their fine print. They will get you to pay, it's just a matter of how.

I never download screen savers from untrusted sites becuase of that reason. they want your email and they want you to run the exe program which 75% of the time contains spyware that ruins your computer.
I would only download screen savers from trusted sites that you know of

Go to http://download.com/ and search for screensavers. They don't tolerate adware there, so you'll be sure to find something free there.

I know it just isn't right but that's what they do.I hate this as well.
I normally agree then I block them all once I have my screen saver lol.Good Luck
