$0.59
you at 8 pencils 2 pens and 1 calculater together....(80 for pencils+ 1.30 for pens + 9.95 for calculator) that equals $12.95
take that and subtract it from $15 and you get $2.95 you take that and divide by 5 to find out how much each notebook is and you get 59 cents

1.First take 8 pencils times .10
2.Then .65 times 2
3.then 1 times 9.95
4.Add all of the three above total s together.
5.Subtract what you got in step 4 from 15
6. Divide what you got in step 5 by 5 (because there were 5 notebooks but you only want to find the price of one.)

cost of pencil = 8*.1 = $0.80
cost of pens = 2 * .65 = $ 1.30
cost of calculator = $ 9.95
cost of books = $15-($0.80+$1.30+$9.95) = $2.95
Thus cost of each book = $2.95/5 = $0.59

pencils: 8*.10=.80
pens: 2*.65=1.3
calc: 1*9.95=9.95
total: 12.05
15-12.05=2.95
5*?=2.95
each notebook cost 59 cents
